Tesla opened with the show with a bang, performing hit after hit, unfortunately being the opener, they had a short set performing only 8 songs.  Tesla warmed up the crowd performing songs like “Hang Tough,” “What You Give,” Signs,” “Love Song,” “Lil’ Suzie,” and finishing their set with “Modern Day Cowboy.”  Tesla was the perfect choice for an opener for this tour, although I would have preferred to have them as the middle act on this tour.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts opened with “Bad Reputation,” a trademark punk-rock track.  Joan Jett performed a 16 song set that included songs like, “Cherry Bomb,” “Touch,” ” Love Is Pain,” “You Drive Me Wild, “I Love Rock N’ Roll, and “Hate.” Then Jett returned to the stage for an encore to perform a cover of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Everyday People.”

Between songs, co-founder of the Blackhearts Kenny Laguna told stories about the old days and the formation of Blackheart Records, and promoted their upcoming documentary “Bad Reputation” to the audience. They played all of Jett’s biggest hits from the Blackhearts and the Runaways.

Then it was time for Styx to perform.  They opened their set with NASA radio chatter, growing into the band’s emergence and playing “Gone, Gone, Gone.”  Styx electrified the crowd performing their mega-hits, “Grand Illusion,” “Lady,” “Rockin’ The Paradise,” “Radio Silence, and “Come Sail Away.”  After a 12 song set, Styx returned for their encore performing an awesome version of “Mr. Roboto” and closing the show with “Renegade.”

If you happened to miss this show, you missed a great one, as fans were on their feet throughout the night dancing to the classics, and it seemed like everyone had a great time!
