John Morgan’s “Cry Baby” has arrived at country radio with 64 first-week stations, making it the week’s second most-added song, according to a November 2 announcement from BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.
The radio impact gives Morgan a new milestone for a song centered on accountability in a relationship. Rather than placing blame on someone else, its narrator recognizes how his own temper has hurt the person he loves.
Morgan co-writes and co-produces the track
Morgan wrote “Cry Baby” with Lydia Vaughn, Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy. He also co-produced the recording with Brent Anderson, bringing his perspective to both the writing and the finished track.
The label’s November 2 update concerns the single’s opening week at radio, with the 64-station total reflecting its initial support. Listeners can find the track through Morgan’s music channels and the BBR Music Group website.
A self-examining country single
“Cry Baby” focuses on the uncomfortable moment when someone sees the consequences of their behavior reflected back at them. That direct emotional premise puts Morgan’s vocal and the song’s relationship story at the center of this new radio push.
