The Grand Ole Opry and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital came together last night to celebrate the incredible work the country music community has done for the hospital with Opry Benefiting St. Jude, a star-studded Opry show that featured performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Charles Kelley, Mitchell Tenpenny, Anne Wilson, Ty Herndon, Kat Lunaand Riders In The Sky. $5 from every Grand Ole Opry show ticket sold went directly toward St. Jude and the fight against childhood cancer.
On top of the performances, the night was weaved in with special moments from St. Jude: St. Jude patients Harper and Annzie introduced artists and then surprised Ballerini by returning to stage to dance alongside her for “IF YOU GO DOWN, (I’M GOIN’ DOWN TOO).” In addition, several artists, band members and speakers of the evening wore the brand-new Music Gives shirt, which debuts this year as the 2025 exclusive shirt given to Partners In Hope – St. Jude monthly donors.
The country music community, including the Grand Ole Opry, has played an integral part in raising funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since 1962, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate of childhood cancer from 20% to more than 80%, and it won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. Programs and initiatives such as St. Jude #ThisShirtSavesLives campaign, Country Cares Seminar, radiothons and more have all contributed to making sure no parent has to pay for treatment or housing.
Music Gives to St. Jude Kids® is one of the most successful music fundraising programs in the United States with more than 350 radio and music partners. Cancer is a multi-trillion-dollar, multi-year problem, and the country music industry helps to raise more than 70 million dollars annually for St. Jude to help children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
