The CMA Music Festival Day 4 Recap
The fourth and final day of the 2018 CMA Music Festival proved to be one of the best days of the festival.  Despite some brief weather delays, which caused a few artist cancellations due to lightning, Day 4 featured some great performances and collaborations.

The biggest highlights for the day happened at the Chevy Riverfront Stage and at Nissan Stadium.  At the Chevy Riverfront Stage, There were some great performances from Morgan Evans, A Thousand Horses, Scotty McCreery, Morgan Wallen, and a shortened performance of Easton Corbin due to weather.  Luke Bryan made a surprise appearance to the Riverfront stage right after Morgan Wallen finished his set to present 2 contest winners with 4 suite tickets to Nissan Stadium for the final night of performances.

Fans really got their money’s worth at Nissan Stadium.  With the announcement of Thomas Rhett being added to the performances of the already great lineup, which already included performances by Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Rickey Skaggs, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell and Luke Bryan, you would think the night couldn’t get any better.  Well think again.   During Dierks Bentley’s performance, he was joined by Dwight Yoakam for a song, before then being joined by Brothers Osborne the song “Burning Man.”  Then Florida Georgia Line took the stage to perform.  After performing several songs, FGL brought out the Backstreet Boys to perform with them for the song, “God, Your Mama, and Me.” Then closing out their part of the show with performing one of their biggest hits, “It Was Meant to Be,” joined by Bebe Rexha.

Then it was time for Luke Bryan to take the stage with the final performance of the night and to wrap up this year’s CMA Music Festival.  Luke Bryan was supposed to perform seven songs for his set, but quickly decided he didn’t want the night to end, and neither did the fans.  Upon spotting Randy Travis in the audience, Bryan abruptly switched directions. He launched into Travis’ “On the Other Hand,” urging fans to sing along. At the end, he told Travis who was in attendance: “I’ve been wanting to sing to you for a long time, buddy. That was unrehearsed.” Bryan then continued to perform Travis’ “Diggin’ Up Bones.”  Bryan continued to perform hit after hit before then finally being joined by Cole Swindell to perform his song, “Rollercoaster.”  It appeared Bryan wanted to perform one more song, but since it was already after 1am, but a decision was made to end the show after Bryan and Swindell’s performance together.

Definitely the best night of shows for the CMA Music Festival at Nissan Stadium.  Unfortunately, we all have to wait another year for the 2019 CMA Music Festival to see a lineup of this caliber of stars.  Tickets for the 2019 CMA Music Festival will go on sale shortly, so be watching the CMA Music Festival website to purchase your tickets for next year.  The 2019 CMA Music Festival dates will be June 6 – 9.
