Country artist Belles has officially announced her highly anticipated self-titled EP, Belles, set for release on September 5. Produced by Sam Grow and Johnny Gates, Belles is a six-track collection that explores themes of love, heartbreak, resilience, and self-discovery, showcasing the emotional depth and range that have become trademarks of Belles’ songwriting.
“This EP feels like my introduction in the truest sense – six songs that capture exactly where I am right now as an artist and as a person, Belles shares. It’s a mix of strength, vulnerability, and a little bit of sass, rooted in classic country storytelling but with my own edge.”
From the vulnerable ballad “Porcelain” to the honky-tonk energy of “Crazy as Me,” the EP highlights Belles’ evolution as an artist and storyteller. Focal track, “Ring on the Table,” offers a poignant, cinematic narrative that follows the rise and fall of a relationship through the recurring image of a ring left behind. It begins with a picture-perfect promise, complete with a dream home, a white dress, red roses, and the hope of building a family. Beneath the surface lies a darker truth of broken promises, hidden bruises, and the quiet despair of a woman holding onto hope for change. As the story unfolds, the arrival of a baby sparks new optimism, but addiction and recklessness only deepen the cracks. In the end, the once-idyllic life is reduced to an empty house, an unused cradle, and a ring abandoned, a symbol of love turned to survival.
