BMI was excited to celebrate Black Music Month with an intimate mixer and conversation with acclaimed R&B singer/songwriter Ari Lennox, moderated by 5x GRAMMY-winning producer Tricky Stewart. This invitation-only event, co-sponsored by Soho House Cities Without Houses, UTA and Milk And Cookies Music Week, was held last week at Sessions, Stewart’s award-winning recording studio and a unique space for elevated experiences in Atlanta, GA. During the evening, Lennox provided insights into her creative process, discussed the arc of her career and shared her personal connection to the city of Atlanta. BMI’s Byron Wright was on hand to moderate an edition of “How I Wrote That Song,” during which Lennox discussed her songs “Shea Butter Baby” and “Pressure.” Music was provided by Thrice Groove and cocktails were curated by Grey Goose. Attendees included names like singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss, producer ATL Jacob, producer Zaytoven, producer Bryan-Michael Cox, The-Dream and K Camp.
