The Grand Ole Opry announced today that multi-platinum singer/songwriter Riley Green has been added as a special guest to the lineup for “Opry NextStage Live from Texas,” hosted by Jelly Roll on May 7 at 2:30 p.m. CT at the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall in Plano, TX. The event, presented by Tecovas, returns for its third year as a marquee lead-up to the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards on May 8 in nearby Frisco, TX.
Green, an alum of the inaugural Opry NextStage class of 2019 and 6x nominee at this year’s ACM Awards, will join the previously announced Opry NextStage Class of 2025: Avery Anna, Chayce Beckham, Dasha, Kaitlin Butts, Kashus Culpepper, Tigirlily Gold and Tucker Wetmore, as well as host Jelly Roll, a 3x ACM nominee.
Since launching in 2019, Opry NextStage has helped spotlight some of the format’s brightest rising stars, including Green, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, Parker McCollum, Nate Smith, ERNEST and Wyatt Flores, among others. Seven artists who were part of the program have gone on to earn ACM New Male or Female Artist of the Year honors, including Moroney, Hailey Whitters, Green, McCollum, Tenille Townes, Smith and Wilson, who also made history as the first Opry NextStage alum to become an Opry member. Collectively, NextStage artists have earned 33 No. 1 hits and spent 43 weeks at the top of the Country Aircheck/Mediabase airplay chart.
