It was a great night of music when Poison and Pop Evil made a stop in St. Petersburg, FL at Al Lang Stadium.  This was the first concert taking place at Al Lang Stadium as part of their Summer Concert series.  The tour named “Nothin’ but a Good Time 2018” tour featured Poison with special guests Pop Evil.  Fans were really excited to have Poison back in the Tampa Bay area, as it has been many years since Poison last performed in the area with Def Leppard.

Pop Evil opened up the show with a short, yet powerful set, featuring tracks off their recent self-titled release. Of course, they also made sure to keep the fans happy by performing their previous hits.  Vocalist Leigh Kakaty sounded great on this night, delivering songs from the recent release, including “waking Lions” and “Be Legendary,”  as well as older hits like “100 In A 55,” and  “Take It All.”  At the end of the set, Leigh included all of the fans out in the back of the crowd by singing “Trenches” as he moved throughout the audience.

Poison was fantastic as the performed all their hit songs spanning their 30 year career.  Bret Michaels took to the stage in his trademark jeans, cut off t-shirt, and bandana, running and jumping around the stage.  Michaels constantly made a point to thank the crowd for coming to the show.  Poison opened the show with “Look What the Cat Dragged In.” Then they performed “I Want Action” and “Ride the Wind,” it was quickly apparent that these guys were having fun playing together, whether it be for 100 people or 10,000.  CC Deville was firing on all cylinders, giving the fans an amazing guitar solo during the show.  He is a great guitar player. Rounding out the line up is Bobby Dall on bass and Rikki Rockett on drums.  Bobby seemed to be having a blast, happy just being on stage and playing music.

Michaels stated to the crowd, “Let’s just keep this party going!!” as the band rocked the stage with “Talk Dirty To Me” and “Something To Believe In.”  Michaels is a true showmen constantly moving around and interacting with the fans. At times, Michaels would bring CC or Bobby out to the catwalk, so that all eyes were on them during solos or high spots during certain songs.  The hits just kept on coming, including “Fallen Angel,” “Unskinny Bop,” and “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn.”

Closing out the show with “Nothin’ But A Good Time” and a KISS cover of “Rock and Roll All Night,” Poison showed the fans how to have Nothin’ But A Good Time!!  Hopefully, Poison doesn’t wait as long to make another return to the sunshine state!
